Laurent Perrier Ultra Brut

Cuvee: Vintage
Vintage: Multi-Vintage
Launched in the early 1980s by Bernard de Nonancourt, Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut was inspired by the success of the zero-dosage (with no added sugar) champagnes made by the House in the late 19th century. Avant-gardist Laurent-Perrier asserted its independence and innovated by creating a new style of wine: unadorned, subtle and ethereal. Because of the delicacy of its blending, its winey character and enduring freshness, Ultra Brut is champagne at its purest, with zero dosage. Grapes are selected for this Champagne from 15 specially designated parcels averaging 97% on the quality scale. The blend Chardonnay (55%), Pinot Noir (45%). Tasting notes Eye Limpid, bright yellow with a fine bead. Nose Intense and forward, with citrus and honeysuckle notes and a unique mineral component, oftentimes likened to a fresh sea breeze. Palate Surprising depth and power, with a purity and concentration of flavor all its own. Amazingly well balanced and absolutely bone dry. Food pairing Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut's delicate finish leaves the palate fresh, while its subtle balance makes it a remarkably versatile wine. Its capacity to bring out flavors in food makes it ideal as an aperitif or paired with dessert. This Champagne also pairs well with caviar, foie gras or even a cigar at the end of a meal.
