KRUG ROSÉ: THE PROVOCATION

KRUG ROSÉ: THE JOY, THE KRUG “FOLIE”

A pinch of sensuality and extravagance, quite rare and recent (1983), Krug Rosé is the second multi-vintage of Krug, consistent blend after blend. It is the result of a hidden experiment and it continues to be every year a free creation full of provocation and joy. Krug Rosé is the initiator of a completely reinvented Rosé universe. Krug Rosé is a Krug Champagne before being a Rosé.

The Blend

Krug Rosé, is a blend of the 3 grapes of specially selected parcels from several years specially prepared every year to receive skin-fermented Pinot Noir wine to create Krug Rosé. Krug Rosé is a multi-dimensional champagne, with a pinch of joyful excitement.

Tasting Notes

Eye

Pale pink-gold colour: pure provocation, but also a promise of elegance and refinement.

Nose

Slightly smoky nose, with aromas of rose hips, cured ham and mulberries and notes of redcurrant, peony, quince jelly, pepper and pink grapefruit.

Palate

Extremely delicate, complex and persistent, with a silky texture and nice volume.

Food Pairing

It is an extremely delicate champagne, persistent and on the nose, with many different aromatic families and a beautiful freshness with concentrated aromas of flowers. Krug Rosé should be enjoyed alone or with very flavourful salty food, such as venison or anchovies. One might say that it is “gastronomic” champagne.

Format

37,5cl and 75cl in gift box
