Pol Roger Pure Brut has been created to complete the Pol Roger range of champagnes and to offer new sensations to connoisseurs. This cuvée is above all an exercise in the House style, where they have sought to craft a wine in its most natural state, without losing the spirit of the other champagnes they make.

The Blend

Authentic expression of the diversity of terroirs, this undosed champagne is born of the perfect balance of three champagne grape varieties blended in equal proportions.

The achievement of such balance and structure is the fruit of long labours in which the choice of the wines for blending and ageing of at least three years have required a rigour and integrity that are reflected in the wine itself.

Tasting Notes

Eye

The golden colour, dense and brilliance is shot through with the thousands of bubbles.

Nose

The fresh and lively nose expresses a fine, complex register of cloves and roses, developing into hints breadcrumbs, yeast and citrus fruit.

Palate

In the mouth the attack is fine and straight as an arrow, surprising after the mature, concentrated nose. But this firm texture acts like a carving, putting into relief a sumptuous wine, fine and well-structured. The retro-olfactory aromas of honey and cloves come through with subtlety, giving the wine extra depth and contributing to its good length.  A thoroughbred wine, svelte and shapely.

Food Pairing

The freshness inherent to this champagne combines a mature and concentrated bouquet in a balance between firmness and delicacy. Sweet, firm-fleshed food such as certain shellfish, prepared in the most natural manner and with ingredients of the purist origins will provide perfect harmony. For example, a starter of crayfish, lobster, crab and rock lobster salad touched off with a dash of olive oil and hazelnut vinegar.
