Amour de Deutz 2002

Cuvee: Blanc de BlancsPrestige Cuvée
Vintage: 2002
TASTING NOTES
• The appearance is pure, crystalline, an attractive clear golden aura with light bronze reflections which are distinctive and unique to Chardonnay.
• Eight years after harvesting, the olfactory freshness does not betray the age of the wine. The bouquet is a delight of flowers and fruit. Like a perfect musical ensemble, the attractive and subtle notes of flavors respect one another, melt together and balance one another to form a perfect harmonious bouquet.
• The attack is attractive, full bodied, ample, suave … and full of promise! The harmony of flavors reaches a rapid conclusion; with its key revelation -thus far- being the aroma of extremely ripe cherries combined with other sun kissed soft fruit. In the mouth, the flavor is upright and precise. The wine gives of a sensation of fullness, warmth, all suggesting the strong sunshine of 2002.
• The finish is attractive, delicious, and lingers infinitely. Everything about it is persistence, balance and harmony. The finesse of the flavor and its voluptuousness, which are specific to the Grand Cru Chardonnays which make up the majority of this cuvée, remain.

FOOD AND WINE AFFINITIES

The “Amour de Deutz” cuvée is always outstanding as an aperitif. The scale of the 2002 vintage also gives it, and perhaps even more than its predecessors, the character of a gastronomic wine which will marry delightfully with pure, delicate and harmonious food. They can be served alone (caviar, sushis, sashimis, or tuna carpaccios or Kobe beef seasoned with a touch of
olive oil, for example) or accompanied by well flavored light sauces. This wine is the perfect accompaniment, perhaps magnifying the dishes. For example, lobster, bass, halibut, Arctic salmon. etc.
