Boizel Joyau de Chardonnay 1989

Cuvee: Blanc de Blancs
Vintage: 1989
A rare wine, elaborated with the exceptional chardonnay grapes from 1989. 1989 was an exceptional vintage for the whole Champagne Region with a very early harvest and remarkable chardonnays, especially in Grand Crus vineyards. This champagne is a blend of grands Crus and Premiers Crus from the Côte des Blancs: Chouilly, Le Mesnil, Cramant, Vertus. The long ageing in cellars has allowed this blend to perfectly develop its full potential.

The blend
100% Chardonnay from Grand Crus and Premiers Crus gfrom the Côte des Blancs. Dosage: 7 gr/l

Tasting notes
Eye: A warm, golden robe with very tiny bubbles.

Nose: The bouquet is complex and mature with soft and sweet aromas of candied fruit as well as brioche. The roasted almonds and hazelnuts notes are balanced by subtle nuances of fresh anise and liquorice.

Mouth: Both strength and finesse in a refined structure. The intense flavours of toasted mocha and heady flowers are supported by the elegant minerality, typical of great Chardonnay. The final reveals a splendid persistence.
